When it comes to cybersecurity, precision matters, and that’s where Brandon Szych-Brown shines. As part of Open Approach’s Security Operations team, Brandon helps protect both our organization and our clients from emerging threats. He holds CISSP and CCSP certifications and is currently leading efforts to bring Open Approach and our clients toward SOC 2 and CMMC compliance.

Brandon has been part of Open Approach for over five years and has played a crucial role in the growth and evolution of our cybersecurity team. His work directly enhances the safeguards our clients rely on, from strengthening compliance roadmaps to ensuring their data, systems, and operations remain protected as threats evolve.

Every improvement he drives internally translates into a stronger security posture for the businesses we support. Whether he’s guiding a client through complex requirements or proactively addressing potential risks, Brandon approaches every challenge with a steady, analytical mindset, methodical when needed, decisive when it counts.

His calm presence under pressure and commitment to doing things right the first time give our clients what they value most: confidence that someone is looking out for them.

In the Community

Outside of work, Brandon wears a very different kind of uniform, one with reflective stripes and a helmet. He serves as a volunteer firefighter in Essex Junction, where teamwork, quick thinking, and composure under pressure are part of every shift.

That same commitment he brings to protecting our clients carries over into his community. Whether he’s guiding a security response or responding to an emergency call, Brandon approaches every situation with calm focus, a sense of duty, and an unwavering drive to help others.

That dedication was on full display recently when he rescued a dog from a burning building, a moment that perfectly captures who he is: someone who steps up when it matters most.
